Angie P - Geelong

What are your hobbies outside of working?

Outside of work i really enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, going for walks, exploring new cafés, and getting out into the community. I love doing anything creative and enjoy planning out thoughtful activities that i know people enjoy to do! i also enjoy relaxing with movies, music and keeping active where i can, if that be by going to the gym or walks!

What inspired you to become a Support Worker?

I’ve always been drawn to helping others and making a positive difference in people’s lives! seeing how the right support can build confidence, independence and happiness inspired me to pursue support work for a living! i really love and thrive on being able to build genuine connections with people and support them to achieve their goals, feel safe and feel and know they are valued! knowing that even small moments of support i give can make a big difference is what motivates me every day!

What were you like growing up?

Growing up I was quite shy and tended to keep to myself. over time i worked on building my confidence and stepping outside my comfort zone by pushing myself to be more social, take on new experiences and not be afraid of outcomes of things, either good or bad both taught me new things and how to take on situations! being able to believe in myself, has shaped me and helped me be the person i am today!
