Chloe R - Support Worker
Chloe R - Geelong
What are your hobbies outside of working?
During the winter season, I like to go to the movies, dinner/lunch dates with friends/family. I love arts, music - currently learning guitar. Summer- very active, love the beach, hikes, long walks. I do yoga every morning, I like to shop, I love plants, I love swimming. I love live bands, I love to cook!
What inspired you to become a support worker?
I have always been a very giving and empathetic person. Growing up around people who struggled with mental health and AOD has given me a strong understanding of compassion, acceptance, and the importance of seeing people without judgement.
I loved hospitality because of the connections I made with customers, the conversations we shared, and being someone who could make people feel heard, welcomed, and accepted.
What were you like growing up?
I have also experienced my own challenges with ADHD and later being diagnosed with PMDD. I struggled throughout school, found myself in reckless situations, and faced difficulties managing my day-to-day life. Five years ago, I was able to access the support I needed to better understand and manage my mental health. Despite these challenges, I have always been kind, creative, and full of potential, and I was fortunate to have a strong support system around me. This is something I would love to provide for others and support people who are struggling or needs assistance.
