Hi, I’m Claudia!
What are your hobbies outside of working?
Outside of work I love recharging myself and my energy in nature whether it's a hike in nature, a walk on the beach, an ocean swim or a spontaneous car ride to see a waterfall or somewhere new! I also love trying new cafés, bonding over food with friends and spontaneous car rides and catch ups with family and friends! I love writing film scripts, watching movies (especially on monday nights at Cinema Nova when they have cheap movie tickets) supporting local indie artists/ musicians playing live, attending health and wellness workshops especially sound bowl healing and yoga and I love going to new events and meeting new people!
How do you connect with young people?
I am quite a creative person, and I find that I can bond with others quite easily over talking about their dreams, their goals, their passions, anything creative as well as having real, vulnerable, open and authentic conversations with young people. We all desire to feel seen, heard and understood and when young people can feel safe to open about their thoughts, feeling, dreams and goals it is such a beautiful connection and exchange of energy. I connect in many ways through talking about films, poetry, personal development, health and wellness and everything in between. I love being able to have conversations with young people about their favourite characters/ tv shows/ musicians/ artists/ movies and their creative interests, hobbies and the things in life that excite them.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was a big water baby; I loved the ocean and visiting the beach during the summer with my family and friends. Torquay was my favourite beach growing up. As a kid I loved animals (I still do), I grew up raising bunnies as pets and I was more of a dog person until we adopted our first family kitten named Axel when I was in year 9 and I fell in love with cats! As teenager I loved playing volleyball, and visiting the cinema every school holidays became one of my hobbies. I really enjoyed going to the cinema as a social way to catch up with my friends during my high school years. I also fell in love with acting during Year 9 where I joined acting classes at Grace Acting Studios. I fell in love with the process of acting, learning my lines every week, and our improv classes. I have lots of nostalgic memories ice skating, rollerblading, sleepovers with friends, visiting adventure park during the summer and luna park in Melbourne throughout my adolescent years. Growing up I loved spontaneity, visiting new places, the gelato van at eastern beach was a massive highlight for me, as well as our family sunday car rides to Portarlington just to visit the ice cream shop there which had the best ice cream!
