Edie - Support Worker

Edie - Geelong

(ee-dee)

What are your hobbies outside of working?

Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my partner and our puppy, June, as well as catching up with friends and family whenever I can. Having a good balance of time with the people closest to me is something I really value.

I’ve always had a creative side and enjoy expressing that through art in many different ways, from painting and arts and crafts to my biggest passion, tattooing.

I also have a love for travel and exploring new places. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a longer adventure, I’m always excited for the opportunity to pack up the Ute, hit the road and experience somewhere new. I love making memories, trying new things and making the most of my time outside of work.

What inspired you to become a Support Worker?

I’m passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of those around me. I strive to be someone people can look up to and feel comfortable with; someone who makes others feel safe, valued, understood and heard. I believe it’s so important that everyone feels acknowledged and included, never judged or pushed aside. I want to create meaningful connections, bring positivity, fun and excitement into every environment, and make sure the people around me know they matter.

What were you like growing up?

Growing up, I was the messiest child you could ever meet! I absolutely loved imaginative play and was always finding ways to keep myself busy, whether that was making up games, creating little adventures or even befriending the kitchen spoons and spending the day playing with them!

I was an outgoing, energetic child who loved all kinds of sport and getting involved in as much as possible. I loved being active, trying new things and using my imagination. Looking back, I think my creativity, curiosity and love for keeping busy have always been a big part of who I am.
