Hannah M - Support Worker

Hannah M - West Melbourne

What are your hobbies outside of working?

Outside of work you'll usually find me at the gym, out shopping, or training my dogs - I love the process of teaching them new skills and watching it click for them. When I'm not doing any of that, I'm making the most of time with friends and family!

What inspired you to become a Support Worker?

My younger brother, who has level 3 autism, is honestly my biggest inspiration for choosing this career. Growing up, I watched the support workers in his life show up for him with so much patience and genuine care, and I saw firsthand the difference that made, not just for him, but for our whole family. That really stuck with me. It made me want to be that person for someone else - to help create the same kind of positive impact I saw play out in his life.

What were you like growing up?

From what I remember, I was pretty quiet and caring - though my mum would probably tell you I had a bit of a bossy streak too! Looking back, I think that mix served me well; the caring side gave me empathy, and the bossy side probably gave me the confidence to speak up and take charge when it mattered.
