What inspired you to become a Support Worker?
My mum is a registered nurse who i watched immensely growing up with nothing but adoration and respect, she was the only parent in the house in my formative years as my dad passed away when i was 8 years old, and in turn made me look up to her. I looked upto dad too as he was driven, motivated and always a protector. It inspired me.
I also grew up with 2 older brothers, they had experienced many things that i was a bystander of, from addiction, to mental health. It made me view the world differently, from an early age i knew i wanted to make everybody feel like they matter
What were you like growing up?
I was very vocal and opinionated, i loved sharing my opinions and ideas.
But i was also social and made friends easily, i loved being outdoors, i loved the beach. I found myself in trouble a bit throughout early highschool up until year 10 (nothing crazy, just typical highschool stuff). I got a mentor and it helped me work through a lot of my big emotions, by the end of year 10 i was doing well and went on to do VCE and graduate.
