Kristy P - Support Worker
Kristy P - West Melbourne
What are your hobbies outside of working?
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, especially planning trips to New Zealand. I'm a big fan of R&B music, love following the NRL, and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also like exploring new places, listening to music, and relaxing with a good drive or getting outdoors when I can.
What inspired you to become a Support Worker?
I was inspired to become a support worker because I wanted a career where I could make a real difference in people's lives. I enjoy building meaningful relationships, helping people achieve their goals, and supporting them to live as independently as possible. Seeing someone gain confidence, learn new skills, or simply have a good day because of the support I've provided is incredibly rewarding. I also enjoy the variety that comes with the role, as every person is unique and every day brings new opportunities to learn and make a positive impact.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was caring, independent, and always willing to help others. I enjoyed being around people, making friends, and looking out for those who needed support. I was also resilient and learned to adapt to different situations, which has helped me both personally and professionally. Those experiences shaped my passion for working in the disability sector and supporting others to live fulfilling lives
