Lara - Support Worker

Lara - Geelong

What are your hobbies outside of working?

Outside of work, you'll usually find me on the sidelines of a football game, whether it's watching my local football & netball club or at the AFL cheering on Carlton with my dad, or with my friends out and about finding anywhere with yummy food and a good dance floor. In my downtime, I play the guitar and sing; I love learning new songs and showing them off to my family and friends.

What inspired you to become a Support Worker?

I have always been someone who loves to help others. Being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult has given me a clear understanding of how much I have to give to others in a similar situation. I am a big believer in making sure everyone feels valued, respected and supported, I want to help others to see their full potential and fall in love with who they really are without the fear of judgement.

What were you like growing up?

Growing up, I was very outgoing; I loved talking, and given the chance, I would talk anyone's ear off. However, being the only girl and middle child, I often found myself spending a lot of time in my own company. I used this as a creative outlet and enjoyed becoming immersed in my music.
