Megan Q - Support Worker

Megan Q - North Melbourne

What are your hobbies outside of working?

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me outdoors—whether I'm camping or spending time riding and training horses, which has been a passion of mine for years. On days when I'm inside, I love unwinding with painting, settling in with a good book, or gathering around for a quirky board game. I really enjoy finding creative outlets and spending quality time connecting with nature and animals.

What inspired you to become a Support Worker?

My journey into support work is deeply personal, inspired by my experience raising my 11-year-old child who has additional needs. While navigating support services, I saw far too many people place her in the "too hard" basket instead of seeing her for the wonderful child she is. That experience drove me to become the kind of support worker who sees every person's true potential and ensures they get the care, dignity, and understanding they deserve.

What were you like growing up?

Growing up as one of five kids, I learned early on how to be fiercely independent and speak up for myself! Our household was always buzzing with energy, so you definitely had to make some noise if you wanted to be heard. That upbringing shaped me into a confident, self-reliant person who knows how to navigate busy environments with a smile.
