Molly R - Therapy Assistant
Molly R- Lara, Geelong, Bellarine
What are your hobbies outside of working?
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time with friends. During the netball season I travel back home to play, which I love. I like keeping fit through the gym and swimming. I also enjoy going to the beach with friends, and I’ve recently started teaching myself to surf, which has been a fun new challenge.
What inspired you to become a Therapy Assistant?
I’m an Occupational Therapy student who also works in kindergartens as an Inclusion Support Assistant. My work in early childhood has inspired me to support children of all abilities to participate, learn, and feel confident in their environment. Seeing how small adjustments can make a big difference in a child’s day has strengthened my passion for becoming a paediatric Occupational Therapist, as well as continuing to grow within my studies.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was energetic, loud and social (still am!). I sang and danced my way through every room, and I loved putting on performances for anyone who would watch. I also grew up with two older brothers, who definitely toughened me up and kept me on my toes. I loved being active, creative, and involved in everything around me. I loved school and learning new things, but mostly loved being able to see and talk to my friends every day.
