Skye F - Support Worker
Skye F - Geelong
What are your hobbies outside of working?
Outside of work, I love keeping active and making the most of my downtime. I play netball on weekends, enjoy listening to music, and love getting lost in a good crime or mystery book. You’ll often find me out for a coffee and a walk along the beach, trying a new place to eat, or doing a little bit of shopping. Most importantly, I love spending time with my family and friends, and of course, my little dog, who keeps me busy and entertained.
What inspired you to become a Support Worker?
My inspiration really began when I was supporting elderly residents in a nursing home. Spending time with them, assisting with daily tasks, and simply being a consistent, friendly presence showed me how powerful support and patience can be. I saw firsthand how significantly a person’s confidence and overall wellbeing can improve when they feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported. That experience stayed with me and made me realise I wanted to build a career where I could make that kind of meaningful difference in people’s lives every day.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up as the oldest sibling, I learned pretty quickly how to look out for others. I’ve always been very close with my family, and a lot of my childhood was spent outdoors waterskiing, exploring, or just making up games with my sister. I was curious about everything and loved asking questions, figuring things out, and trying new activities. I was also quite bubbly and social, but valued my independence. Those experiences really shaped who I am today; someone who values family, enjoys being active, and naturally supports the people around me.
